Ground rules for broadcast dates
The broadcast dates of the matches will be announced as soon as the exact dates of the match days are known. In the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga, the schedule is coordinated with international match days of the national teams by agreement with UEFA and FIFA. If match days are scheduled at short notice due to postponements, the broadcasters have a pre-emptive right to select the matches for the live broadcasts of the respective match day.
Match days and kick-off times
In the 2023/24 season, the 34 match days in the 2nd Bundesliga will take place on the following days:
- Friday: 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m
- Saturday: 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
- Sunday: 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
- Monday: 8:30 p.m.

Midweek matches
In addition to the regular match days, there will also be midweek matches in the 2nd Bundesliga. These matches will take place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Play-offs
If two or more teams are level on points at the end of the season, play-offs will be held to determine the promoted teams and the relegated teams.
