CWA Members at AT&T West Ratify New Contract
Agreement Covers 8,000 Workers in California and Nevada
Collective Bargaining Agreement Includes Wage Increases, Benefit Enhancements
In a move directly affecting approximately 8,000 workers in California and Nevada, CWA members at AT&T West in District 9 have voted to ratify the Mobility Purple collective bargaining agreement. The Communications Workers of America (CWA) represents AT&T employees in the region.
The agreement includes wage increases, benefit enhancements, and other improvements for the workers. The union had been negotiating with the company for several months, and the vote to ratify the contract was closely watched by both sides.
"This contract is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our members," said CWA District 9 Vice President Frank Arce. "We are pleased to have reached an agreement that provides fair wages, benefits, and working conditions for our members."
The Communications Workers of America represents approximately 22,000 AT&T workers in the Southeast region. The union has been in negotiations with the company for several months over a new contract. The two sides have been unable to reach an agreement, and the union has authorized a strike if necessary.
