Arsenal vs Tottenham: Gunners claim bragging rights in thrilling north London derby

David Raya's remarkable clean sheet run comes to an end as Arsenal seal crucial victory

Tottenham twice came from behind to earn a draw

Arsenal emerged victorious in the highly anticipated north London derby, defeating Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday. The Gunners' victory extends their lead at the top of the Premier League table, while Spurs' title challenge suffers a setback.

Tottenham took the lead against the run of play in the 14th minute through a stunning strike from Ivan Perisic. However, Arsenal responded quickly, with Martin Odegaard equalizing just six minutes later. Bukayo Saka then put the Gunners ahead in the 27th minute, before Gabriel Martinelli sealed the victory with a fine finish in the 79th minute.

The win was Arsenal's first in the Premier League against Tottenham since 2018. It also marked the end of goalkeeper David Raya's remarkable clean sheet run away from home. Raya had not conceded a goal in more than 10 hours of football on the road before Arsenal's opener.

The north London derby was a thrilling encounter from start to finish, with both teams creating chances to score. Arsenal ultimately deserved the victory, but Tottenham showed great resilience to come from behind twice.

The result leaves Arsenal eight points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table. Tottenham, meanwhile, remain in fifth place, but are now four points behind Manchester United in fourth.
